SPARCe (pronounced sparky) is an engineering student organization at Arizona State with focus on engineering consulting. It stands for Students’ Project and Research Consulting in Engineering.
SPARCe’s vision is to promote quality engineering and business education and innovation by application based learning experience. SPARCe’s mission is to enable engineering and business students at Arizona State University to apply their education, through consulting projects in engineering, to integrate more business knowledge into the realm of engineering students and vice-versa.
Benefits to engineering students: Engineering students will get a chance to work on real projects from real companies, and get a chance to enhance their skills and grow professionally.
Benefits to business students: Business students will get an insight into how a consulting startup works, and will get first hand experience in working as consultants.
Benefits to companies and businesses (clients): Small, medium and large companies/businesses will get to work directly with students, get some important stuffs done, and more importantly check students out (for free!)

Director of Operations
I’m a sophomore currently majoring in computer science. I have recently started a multimedia business called Kupa’a Media so I’m very excited about that. SPARCe has helped in the developmental process of building my online portfolio so this goes to show how applicable the knowledge we learn at SPARCe is to realistic careers.
Director of Strategy
I am a sophomore currently studying computer science with a focus on software engineering. My hobbies consist of game development, art, playing music, and hanging out with friends. SPARCe has involved me in interdisciplinary efforts such as bringing together entrepreneurship and engineering, helping me develop professionally.
Director of Communications
I’m a sophomore in computer science doing synthetic bio research at The Haynes Lab at ASU. I’m also a part-time web developer. I love the intersection between biology and computer science, and hope to work towards uniting the fields in the future.
Director of Education
I’m a Masters student in Computer Science at the Ira A. Fulton School of Engineering. I currently work as a Management Intern. My research interests are in developing assistive technologies for people with disabilities and data mining.
